Tera Storms, PsyD.

“We are capable of creating change in our lives, learning how to suffer less, moving through life with calm and clarity, telling our life story in a meaningful way, and taking our place in the world. Our mental health and personal wellbeing are fundamental to living balanced, empowered, effective and well-lived lives.

With deep intention, I approach my work with compassion, curiosity, an open mind and an open heart. I strive to hold an honest, whole-hearted, emotionally safe therapeutic environment for you in which you will be truly heard and seen. I acknowledge the unique differences in each individual’s path and I will partner with you toward you own personal process of healing, growth and change.

My work is grounded in a psychodynamic approach. I also regularly incorporate aspects of narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy working with a wide range of concerns and needs. I have extensive experience in working with relationship problems, anxiety and depression, work-life balance, academic problems, stress and coping, grief and loss, trauma, identity issues, life cycle transitions, and death and dying. My specialization areas include couples therapy, family therapy, women’s health, and psychological aspects of medical conditions.

It takes courage to examine our lives, to work through unresolved parts of ourselves, to be willing to see things differently, to repair relationships, to learn new skills and habits, and to create space for powerful, healthy changes in our lives.”
